About the Coach

Congratulations on the new addition!

You are a new puppy parent!

Maybe you've been waiting for your new addition for a while and the time has come to bring the little bundle home.  You pick him up on Friday night and it's so exciting and so fun on Saturday and on Sunday. Then you remember you have to go back to work on Monday morning!  Yikes!!  But, kibble isn't free and your new little land shark is going through squeaky toys like they grow on trees.  And, oh no, not again on the carpet!!

And what about those expensive chew toys?  Can't he cut his teeth on them instead of the baseboards?  Monday morning is looming ... and you are thinking how can I leave my baby home all alone all day?

Hopefully, you have planned ahead.  You have the bed, the toys, the food, the crate. But still what are you going to do while you are gone all day at work those first few important weeks?  You new little puppy is adjusting to life away from mom and his littermates and you want him to have a smooth transition.  You want him to have a headstart on his new life with you and all the things he needs to learn.  Good news! Cici, the Canine Coach, is also a Puppy Nanny!!

Behaviorists agree that puppies aged 8 to 16 weeks are at the most vulnerable time of their life as far at determining what kind of adult dog they will become.  Learning happens more easily during this time, but stress and bad experiences also make more of an impact.

A puppy who spends these four weeks alone all day is missing out on this valuable time.  Not only are good housetraining patterns hard to establish, but socialization and learning are also compromised.  Even the best intentioned new pet parent can't make up this valuable time without some help.
Everyday I talk to people with dogs over the age of 6 months who are still not trustworthy at home -- either they are still having toilet accidents, or they are creating havoc with destructive chewing and barking.  These behaviors can be traced back to that all-important critical period of 8-16 weeks.

How much is your new carpet worth?  How much would it cost to replace that sofa?  Puppies don't outgrow destructive behavior -- they practice it.

Make your life easier with your new puppy and give him the headstart in life he needs.  During that critical stage in his development (8-16 weeks), arrange for your new puppy to stay with the Puppy Nanny.

Puppies will stay with Cyndi in her home and will begin the basics of potty training, and begin clicker training for beginning obedience.  Your puppy can stay Sunday night until Friday night or we can make arrangements for daily (Mon-Fri) visits where he returns home each evening.

Training fees are $60 per day if the puppy stays for a sleep-over, or $50 per day if he goes home each evening.  The puppy will receive on-going training, playtime and naps during the day, as well as learning proper bathroom etiquette.

Because continuation of the training process is crucial, Cyndi will give you all the necessary information to follow through with your puppy's training regime.  This program is limited to puppies aged 8-16 weeks.
